About St. Anton am Arlberg
St. Anton sits at 1,304 m on the Tyrolean side of the Arlberg, on the main railway line between Innsbruck and Bludenz. The local ski instructor Hannes Schneider developed the Arlberg technique here, and the village hosted the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2001.
The skiing
St. Anton is part of Ski Arlberg, which has more than 300 km of prepared pistes and 85 lifts across Lech, Zürs, Warth, Schröcken, Stuben and St. Christoph. The highest point of the whole area is the Valluga above St. Anton at 2,811 m, giving a vertical drop of about 1,500 m.
